Introverted college junior Scarlett Goodwin struggles with social anxiety. A mathematics major, she focuses on her classes and her job in the tutoring lab until she’s coerced into tutoring Southern University’s soccer star, Tucker Price. Tucker’s bad boy, womanizer reputation makes Scarlett wary of any contact, let alone spending several hours a week in close proximity.

But from her first encounter, she realizes Tucker isn’t the person everyone else sees. He carries a mountain of secrets which she suspects hold the reason to his self-destructive behavior. But the deeper she delves into the cause of his pain, the deeper she gets sucked into his chaos. Will Scarlett find the happiness she’s looking for, or will she be caught in Tucker’s aftermath?

  • Delightful!

A very cute love story. This was a fun read. I loved Scarlett and her issues - her anxiety struggles were very real. Also, Tucker was very believable too – he had some issues that I think a lot of “professional” athletes experience. Reading this took me back to my college days and I enjoyed the escape.

Great book, but the ending is kind of anticlimactic

How often does the popular guy go for the academic type? Never. But they share the same pain. It was an AMAZING read. Not like a lot of the other romance books. Wasn't focused on just sex it had depth giving you an instant connection. When her heart ached so did mine. Read this today, in a few hours Can't wait to read the next one right now.

I can honestly say I fell in love with the characters and the storyline itself. I have had some books on my iBooks app and just didn't give it much thought until today and I can say this is the first book I read on iBooks and I am very glad I did! I can't wait for more.
  • Hooked!

From the beginning this story had me hooked. I just love Scarlett and Tucker! I was rooting for them to be together especially after I found out a little bit about Tucker's upbringing. Made my heart ache for him. Denise has a way of making her readers fall in love with her characters! Cannot wait to see little updates here and there of these two in the other books! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend reading it. :)

I wish there was a bit more at the end but the whole story was great, that's just me being greedy.

I struggled to even finish this book! The storyline definitely has potential, but the characters are WEAK, the dialogue is WEAK, and the writing is WEAK! Ms. Grover Swank basically writes the same scene in several different ways and, since the book is written in first person, we get to hear the main character's lame and constant worries over and over and over again. This is why I don't like the "New Adult" genre. The characters and their issues are so immature I can't understand the allure. There may be some in which the characters are young people truly trying to find their way; making difficult decisions, falling in love-just growing up...After Math, however, isn't one. Save the space on your device for a better story, this one doesn't deserve the MBs.

I was afraid to start a new book I didn't want to give others a chance after the Rose Gardner series but I must say Desine another terrific book! I absolutely love it!!!
